My Great-great-grandfather had one of the first "1888" KX500s,,,suspension was quite stiff,,,made of wagon springs.

yeah, i believe it was the first model with the steamfired locomotive-engine and wood-rims...  :lol: :lol:

Is that the year they swiched from chopped wood and went with crushed coal to fire the steam??? :?

Maybe it's worth saying I have the Clymers manual pdf if any one needs it. It seems more detailed than the OEM.

crushed coal was the special race fuel for steam engines in the good old times...  :lol:

d**n! I've been looking for this for awhile and finally gave up and ordered the hard copy... Good to have as a reference here at my desk though, thanks!
