The team at KX Guru Racing have become a very busy crew......between our 500cc build off with MRE, our adventure ride from the Canadian border to the Aim Expo in Las Vegas, our Sunny Garcia project Hawaiian Beast and many more projects in the works we have found ourselves stretched pretty thin. HOWEVER when this opportunity came up we couldn't pass it up.......
As it turns out, Team Monster Energy Kawasaki's Tyler Bowers has got the green light to race a steel framed KX500 on October 20th at the famous Red Bull Straight Rhythm. Tyler bought himself a pristine 1991 KX500 and has been practicing with it. Although he loves the bike obviously it needs some much needed upgrades......Pro Circuit will be handling the engine build as they are one of Tyler's primary sponsors however thanks to a good referral from MRE's Adam MillAr, Tyler has enlisted KX Guru Racing to assist with the chassis mods and chassis set up. We are thrilled to be a part of this project and we will do all we can to provide Tyler with a solid KX500 capable of the harsh pounding it will experience while competing in this fine event!! Stay tuned as this promises to be an event that will be remembered for a long time!!

Can we sign some sort of petition to get Jason to wear safety glasses?   :-D

Sounds like a really cool and exciting project.  Just don't share any Guru secrets with Pro Circuit.  They can learn them just like you did.
Perhaps I have a dirt bike addiction?

Lol... Jason has safety glasses on but they are a little hard to see...

Pro Circuit has forgotten more about the KX500 then we will probably ever know but we are not involved in the engine, only the chassis set up. So no real secrets there

But this should be interesting if his engine builder builds the right engine...

Oscar says..

Granted the Kawasaki kx500 is not as technologically advanced as Tyler Bowers' Factory Kawasaki kx450f but we will do our best to give him the best kx500 we possibly can!

I said..

Tell Tyler to pull his suspension off his 450 and put it on the 500. Send the shock to me, I'll make it fit.. Although it won't fit the 450 when I'm done with it.

Is there a cheeky way to advertise on the graphics that the bike is still a 91 model? It would just add to the satisfaction when he is keeping those shiny 4 strokes honest.

KX Guru Racing has a minor roll in all this but Oscar has already made the suggestion..
I guess we will see what happens together  8-)

I can see the price of the mighty K5 doubling once people get educated.

I also have visions of the big 4 having a “space race” to a new EFI 500 smoker

Who knows, once the word gets out about comparative rebuild costs to the masses born into 4strokes it could be the beginning of the end.....

(That last one was a bit cheeky I know :-P)

The only new thing I found out is that Tom Morgan, not Pro Circuit is building the engine...
I was actually worried about Pro Circuit building the engine.
If the Guru guys can't build it I'm happy Tom is doing it.
