2000 - 2001 shock on 1994-1998
« on: March 27, 2018, 08:34:19 PM »
Hi,

Any major issues fitting this shock to a 1994-1998 frame.

Could I makre it work with a different shock linkage?  And later swing arm? :? :?

Or will I need to keep it for my next build?

According to Sandblaster’s awesome interchange list, you are good. 1994 to 2004 used the same shock. Scroll to the right to see the shock info.

On a 500 yes.
A 250??? Let's see:

Here is some measurements of a 94

Here is a 2000
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

Looks like it to me but your shock has some interesting differences.
I would take some measurements and compare if I were you..
I would check the clevis.
Looks like yours has much longer ears on it...

Love the Ti spring???

That dude looks like a factory or aftermarket shock.  The two adjusters catch your eye.

Shock was noted to be Factory 1997.  The 2001 in black marker has made me instantly question the year along with the Clevis long ears...

Sandblaster, Nice assortment of Ti bling.  Yes the spring is Ti love the look of a Ti spring, gives the shock a unique look.
Keep up the good work, followed allot of your mods & Kx500 builds.  I have a low hour 2000 Kx500 that I will tear it down when I have time.

I’ll do some measurements and post results.   I would one like to way or another get this to fit a 1994-1994 frame.
