I was researching and it makes 24hp. Not sure what a stock KDX makes but I doubt it is much more than that. Heck, that's probably more than my first 1974 250 made. My wife has an XR200. Really nice bike but has a mere 14hp and weights 240lbs (you'd never know it to ride it - it's fun). It takes at least $1500 to max it out at 24hp (that the KX already has) but is still an astonishing 120lbs heavier than the KX100. The last KX100 I rode was light, nimble, had great suspension and was quite powerful. I haven't personally tried the flywheel weight, but I read an online article where they were making one into a girls trailbike and it sounded like the ticket. I don't see how you could go wrong.
