Help KX 250 - Rear suspension - 1994 - 2006 Interchangeability

Hi,

I need some assistance form some of the suspension Guru's out there.

I am looking at purchasing a used A kit suspension.

The seller notes 1998 - 2006 KX 250, which is quite broad considering the changes over the years.

My concern is the interchangeability of the rear suspension-shock.  Off a later 2000 to 2006 KX250 fitting and being comparable with the 1994-1998 Frame swingarm and linkage.

1994 build but happy to fit a 1998 swing arm and linkage ect to make it compatible.

Sandblaster's handy interchange list shows that there is a slight difference in length and size between 94 and 98, but nothing huge.  I would think it would bolt right up.  I put KYB Kit suspension on my 2003 500 conversion, and it bolted up with no issues even though it was designed for the 1998 bike.  The shocks were very similar is diameter and length.  Here's that list:

As for the forks, you will probably need to swap out the steering stem from your 94 in to the A kit clamps.  Make sure that the new clamps aren't a radically different offset, as that will affect your handling and could make your bike unstable.  I think stock offset is 25 mm for most years of the KX 250 two stroke.  If you need clamps (the A Kit forks will be larger in diameter than stock) or the ones you get are a bad offset, I would suggest calling Topar Racing and asking for Henry.  The have really nice prices on clamps, and the set he did for me were awesome pieces for under $300.  Scroll to the bottom to see the clamps I got.
