Frame rail question
« on: June 02, 2017, 03:19:57 PM »
Back to looking at doing my AF conversion finally. Curious, has anyone considered using round tube vs the typical square tubing for the frame rails?

Don't know which one would be stronger but OEM must use it over the round for reasons other than tab or engine mount ease of welding. I like M193 better! Same or better results within 300 yards!

Yeah, I'm not sure why the factory chose square over round. I've read a lot comparing the two but can't decide which way to go. I was thinking less stress would be introduced to the round tube when forming the rails than the square and would be easier to have made locally since I don't know of anyone offering rails currently.

LOL! Most have no clue what my user name is about! I agree, under 300 I prefer good old M193.

Another question, has anyone been using, or tried to use, one of the CR500 conversion Y-pieces on the KX250f frames?
