How to Measure Crank Tolerance
« on: May 16, 2017, 10:25:59 AM »
This is for a Yamaha Blaster, but it would be pretty similar to any two stroke.  Refer to your user's manual for tolerance, but for my 2004 KX250, it is between 0.037 to 0.049 mm or 0.015 to 0.0019 inches.  The total vertical run out should be nor more than 0.03 mm or 0.0012 inches.

My 1988 KX500 lists 0.033 to 0.049 mm (sorry no inches) for side to side movement and the same 0.03 or 0.0012 inches for run out.
