Kx 500 actuator seal newbie question
« on: July 01, 2017, 11:23:59 AM »
Hi i'm new to the site and kx500's for that matter!
i race maico's but have recently bought a 89 kx 500 with an 88 engine. one of the first things i noticed was all the horrible black oily gunk leaking out of the powervalve cover area. I've taken the cover off and removed the cicrlips, screw and little bushes or whatever they to try and gain access to the seal. My question is can i remove and replace the seal without removing the head and barrel and if not can someone talk me through how to do it properly as i don't want to mess up the powervalve when re assembling
thanks
