Bang for buck
« on: August 21, 2005, 03:19:40 AM »
Hey guys I need some help in finding out what has the best bang for buck and best overall power gain. I am mainly looking for top end power so either a FMF gnarly(desert) pipe or V-Force reed cage or the PVL ignition system. Also has anyone here had any experience with the "Fastway" footpegs on the KX500?

cheers

Bang for the buck? Get a port job from Eric Gorr ($120) and will give you any type of power you like and if you prefer top-end power, this is it. Better than anything aside from PVL. Now, if you need a new top-end anyway, try his 520cc big bore with porting ($500 including porting). Very nice.

520cc big bore /w porting - $500 (Best all around!)  :D
PVL - $500 (supercharger for the KX)
FMF Desert - $200 (better looks and small gains in mid-top) 8)

V-Force - $150 (low-mid range gains)
Rad Valve - $150 (small top range gains) :?
Reed Spacer - $50 (small gains in low-mid)   (4 me)

Now, mix the Big bore, PVL, FMF Desert and the Rad Valve!      :D

Thanks for the coments guys.

The owner befor me said that the motor has allready been ported so I think I will leave that for the moment. 2nd on list looks to be the PVL ignition system so as soon as the bank balance allows, I will order that.  :D

Also will I lose much bottom end with the PVL and will I gain much or any hp?

A PVL consists of an entire ignition system, including an inner rotating flywheel, so naturally that would have to come with a new stator, flywheel, cdi and coil. Totally diffrent from the normal system.
