Trying to determine if I can swap an input transmission shaft
« on: September 01, 2016, 11:10:36 PM »
Again, tecate 4 related but I require group knowledge.   So you can reference my other post about understanding kawies part numbers.  I have an input shaft 13127/A. When I look at other part numbers that carry a letter I see 2 things.  1. Is that part has an optional part or 2. Transmission gears all have the same part number 13129 but each gear carries a letter A,B,C and so on to identify the specific gear.

That being said an explanation would be better suited in my other post for that issue.  My issue here  ow is a matter of experience which I don't have.  So I'm looking at my input shaft for the purpose of being able to bolt on a complete hinson clutch, likely from a kx250 or kx250f.

So my question is, I have a 6 speed transmission,  is it possible to take an input shaft from a 5 speed transmission and use it in a 6 speed application?  Really tough for me to tell with my level of experience and with out have parts here to measure.   I know other isues could be factors but answer me this question first and then bring forth other concerns
