Clutch cables

Maybe it's just the brand clutch cables I've bought. or maybe, it's the same with all of them. But why is it( even with brand spanking new steel and fiber plates) that the cable adjustment once adjusted for proper engage and disengagement is so close to the adjustment limits. I don't know that routing the cable would make any difference because it's right where it should be and doesn't have any kinks or tight spots when I turn or otherwise. Is that common with all new clutch cables? Or is there a brand out there that gives the rider more life on his cable with an adjustment that isn't 80 or 90% spent right off the git go?

is it an aftermarket cable?
I've found going with OEM cables is by far the best choice.

They are tusk cables. I don't know how 0.e.m  they are. but next set I'll do some more informed shopping and make sure I follow your recommendations. Thanx mr.  4 beaver

Yes I noticed the same thing with my new bike to me KX5.  Going to extend the arm at case to make pull easier.

OEM clutch cable all the way,
Not only do they last longer, but they have the lightest pull...

I stopped using aftermarket cables a while back but I had no fitment issues.
If your inner clutch hub or pressure plate is worn that can cause your cable to be out of wack.

oem cable  {has swivel ends}/ new needles bearings  in clutch arm,  one finger pull  all day/ even work it wiht baby finger :-D
