Do you have a service manual?
If so, compare what it says and let me know.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

-98 with the hard wired stator to the wiring harness doesn't have a black wire.
That pic is form a -98, i rewired the yellow to white/yellow and got resistance of 2.7ohms
it was 120 turns per pole. 0.45mm wire. The second section was 220 turns per pole with 0.35mm wire, BUT i RAN OUT OF WIRE AFTER THE SECOND pole!!
so i made 440 turns wrists hurting and looked to my "wirespool" :D i got the wire from a pro who rebuilds electric engines. Guess my bike won't be running tonight!!
DÄÄÄÄÄÄÄM!!!!

-01 flywheel goes to a -98 kx250 and works.
There are two sections in the stator one with 3 poles and one with 5 poles.
I didn't get the 0.35mm wire from the shop that i got it from the first time, cue we have a national drinking weekend in finland and the guys had closed the shop early. So i had to go to a different place that sells electronic stuff and got 0.4mm wire instead.
First section with 3 poles i made 120turns per pole, and the second 5 poles, with 0.4mm wire i did 170 turns per pole, the turning is so terrible work and my winding was so terrible i could not get more wire in. I got a resistance of 7ohms from the second section.
Anyways, the thing works.
I took some crappy pictures and can make a youtube video if you guys want to see how its done?
I only did this to learn new stuff and save 186€ witch is a hellawa lot of money in my opinion from a chinese stator!

What ever you do wit the -98 DO NOT CUT THE CABLES FROM THE STATOR!! Solder them off.
The wiring harness hasn't got any slack, 0, nada and you'll be in a world of s..tt lenghtenin the cables, cuz there is absolutely no room.
Allso keep in mind that the wires must be able to clear the flywheel, so leave some room for them in between the poles.
I didn't, so i had to put a tiny bit of smaller wire.

Cheers!
