87 KX500
« on: March 14, 2016, 03:03:02 PM »
Just scored a good deal on 87 KX500. The bike is complete but it will need to be gone through to get it back in shape. Originally got it to part out on ebay, then decided I would post on craigslist and make a quick flip. After looking around for parts and doing some research seems like parts are pretty much extinct. The bike is complete and most parts that it needs can be rebuilt, restored or bought new or aftermarket. The top end im sure needs rebuild but cant seem to find a piston or much less any top end parts. I haven't tore into the bike to see what im up against yet so its hard to say what it will need. Any opinions on what I should do? I'd be willing to part out or sell whole to someone who could use it for parts. The bike is complete but has been sitting up for a while.

Yeah, he's on FB as well.
If it were me I would have modded those valves to make them breath better then stock but then again I can't seem to help myself...  8-)
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
