Machined head stay
« on: March 14, 2016, 10:14:20 AM »
Working with a friend who part runs a machine shop to mill a head stay for my 04 500/01 250 convention.  We've most of the drawing problems worked out now, but if anyone has a cad or dwg file of one that would be great.

If there's enough of a demand, he said he would consider turning out a batch of the finished product.

Our prototype thus far is made out of 7075 aluminum and design roughly mimics that of the steel one offered on this site.  Will possibly be completed tonight, time willing.  Could also be 4140 Crome moly

Thoughts?

very nice looking piece . Your putting this in a 2001 KX250?
I just did a 2000 and the mounting tab had to be on top not out front.
mine was an earlier one so maybe its different

Interesting.  Yes, mine is quite different,  didn't think they changed from 00-01.  Else I have my engine mounted a fair many degrees off from yours
