Draper Lake and Digging for the Earth's Core
« on: January 24, 2016, 03:43:35 PM »
Danger, my cousin, and I took a trip to the Cross Timbers riding area near Lake Draper in Oklahoma City. The weather started off cold, but made it into the sixties by the afternoon.  Danger brought along his Danger4U-Also, I brought Goliath, and my cousin rode my 08 KTM 105. Danger even broke out the Bus.  We rode for about an hour, and came back to the Bus for hot dogs cooked on the grill. If you guys haven't seen the bus, head over to the My Bike Transport section and check it out.  It's very cool in person. It's like having a garage, living room, and kitchen all in one. After lunch, we headed out for the blue trail.  Unfortunately the heavy rains in December had not been kind to the trails. If you want to know what stops a KX 500: a rut that touches the Earth's core.

Of course, Danger was really quick with the camera.  My cousin said that he would help, "if only he had some boots on".  After a few pics, Danger helped me out and we finished the ride.  Beautiful day at a really nice riding area.

Goliath did a pretty good job, but will need some carb adjusting.  Open to half throttle is great. After that it bogs pretty badly. Thankfully the Lectron is very adjustable, so I just need to do some tweaking.

I think I brought half the lake's mud home on Goliath:

After about an hour with the washer, I was finally able to put her up clean

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

The wheels are Tusk Impacts from Rocky Mountain. The wheels come complete and ready to mount for $550 a set. They are a great deal for the price.

We usually get a ton of pretty days like this in mid winter.  Then just when you think spring is here, it gets cold again and snows.  The weather here can be a bit fickle as you probably noticed.  :-D
