magura clutch kit on a kx250
« on: December 23, 2015, 08:29:46 AM »
Just wondering what kind of results and set up issues from installing a   magura hydraulic clutch kit on a 2001 kx 250? ive been reading reviews on rmc and it seems to be pretty mixed. Thanks !

I had one on my 2004 KX 250 (it came on a bike I bought to do a 500 conversion), but I eventually took it back off.  I didn't like the feel, and missed the adjust-ability of a regular clutch.  Not worth the $$$ in my opinion.
Perhaps I have a dirt bike addiction?

Put one on a k5 with 10 percent stiffer clutch springs and felt nice, I don't have one on either of my k5 s as there pricey , I use a different perch and lever that lightens the feel and is much cheaper, I also use the same parts on my 06 250 kx with good results so just depends on how thick your wallet is.

SMV Rider has reviewed it over at TT. He likes it.

I like my cable one. I have a brembo hydraulic on my husky. I don't see one better than the other.

I have a Magura hydro clutch on my '00 KX125. I really like it for all the reasons you've read about: no cable adjustment, no cable maintenance, easier pull, and smoother feel.

The stock Magura lever pivots forward and works well. I've drop-tested it many times!
