umberto/Danger4u2 ride
« on: November 15, 2015, 10:09:58 AM »
Umberto, came over to the shop to ride today. It was all fun.
I didn't have a bike to ride other than my KLR650 with no front brakes and street tires.
I had a little trouble getting up some of the hills but it was all good.
I showed him the track, it's covered with leaves and many downed trees. We spent
a little time throwing limbs off the trail.  I showed him the 9 acres I used to ride that has
all the cool hills and a 300 ft. natural half pipe about 15 feet deep.  About 3 years ago
the new owners of the land asked that I no longer ride their property.  It changed hands
again and we are allowed to ride.  They have bull dozed many of the trees and
my groomed trails.  I can make out most of the trails and with a little weedeater work
and cutting a few saplings it will be a nice riding area again.  I have about 10 crossing of
the half pipe of which 2 I have not been able to make.  Too steep a drop in and not enough
run in to get the speed needed to make it up the other side. I'm going to let umberto show me
how with one of his bike.  I won't fault him if he declines.  Only 2 of us have attempted and we failed.
The other few people I've allowed to ride have declined.  Most don't like the fact I'm real fast with
a camera. If they crash and get hurt I snap one picture, if they say there not hurt I let the shutter fly.
Next ride I'll get some new pictures.
umberto this is the tree you saw that I chopped up.

It's definitely a fun area to ride!  Danger has some really challenging trails built on the property. I'm not sure I'm going to the first victim on a couple of those trails. He wasn't kidding about taking pictures of your crash.  :-D

Major kudos to Danger for tackling those trails on a KLR with no front brake, and street bikes tires!!  :-o.
Perhaps I have a dirt bike addiction?
