O.k Guy's I know this has been talked about buy I need to make sure. I just installed 14/49 with new o-ring chain and it does hit the engine case. I know alot of ya'll are running 0-ring chains are ya'll having any problems with the chain rubbing the case :?: I know kxcam22 did a neat mod. but don't have time for that at this moment. Thanks

You must have been in south tx unless you took the long way home. I went to the Goodyear plant a couple of times in Calhoun during the 80's. Nice country for riding.

I was in Galveston,TX. Yes north georgia has some good trails.

Guy's my chain is rubbing bad enough that the rear wheel will not spin freely. Do I ride it and wear in the case or do I need to look at something else :?: Can I add a washer behind the front sprocket :?:

Is it rubbing the case, or the chain block? If the case maybe an Xring would clear, I think there are pictures showing the difference in the gallery

  If you add a washer behind the front sprocket you will not be able to put on the circlip that holds the sprocket onto the shaft.  That is why I ended up getting a recess cut in the sprocket to reduce up the difference the washer made so I could put on the circlip.  Your chain sounds wide!  My Tsubaki is huge but didn't rub that bad. Use another front sprocket? 13/45 is very close to what your after... the difference is less than 0.3%

I figured it would lock up or free up. I ran it and let it wear in. Pulled chain and very little wear more like a scrub mark. This chain was very stiff(new) that could have been some of the resistance I was feeling while spinning the tire over. After 2 hours of riding everythings looks good. Chain is alot more limp. First 0-ring chain use to using 520 std. chains.

I don't know if these are the right parts. But my 87 doesn't use a circlip.  It has a washer with the i.d splined to match the counter shaft. after the nut is torqued you just bend one side of the washer up against the nut. I have about .040-.060 of counter shaft sticking pass the nut. I will look at kawasaki.com and see if I have the right parts.

  Mines a '92. They must have changed how the CS sprocket mounts.  If your CS shaft is not tapered then you might be in luck. Would be simple to buy a 2nd one of those splined washers and place it on the back side of the sprocket to space it outwards.  The nut will take up the clearance. Cam.

I going to give it look and see what I can do. The chain rubbing is not hurting anything right now but it does bother me that it is rubbing. Just got to run my new gearing today 14/49 man that's what I have been looking for. Now I am leaning toward a flywheel weight. Thanks for ya'll help.

There is a rubber o-ring which fits behind the spacer that the sprocket rests against. I just used two of the rubber 0-rings before slipping the spacer on the shaft. This makes you have to push the sprocket to compress the rubber 0 ring and get the circlip to fit. No more case scraping.  :D
