Hey guys Its about time i came on here and made some friends. Let me start with my background and how i got to where im sitting, with all these parts. I had Just sold my 2004 Mach 1 Mustang and was depressed. I needed a new project. So I bought a 1989 KX80 (N2) for 200$ running and riding. Being owned by a BMW Technician and more-so an automotive enthusiast, the engine is AMAZING, Fresh top end, all fluids drained/clean fluids in, trans is perfect with new clutches and friction plates also. It pulled so hard and was such a deceiving bike, I knew it deserved better. So without caring about price, and promising myself ill keep it for a long while untill I am in the position to really upgrade it and restore it (ultimately), I started to throw some much needed parts at it. New Handle bars, shifters, grips, Chain, and exhaust. Well I couldn't and still cant quite seem to figure out how to find pipes for these bikes. SO i went on ebay and bought one for a 1985-86 in NOS shape (d**n near perfect w/original paint/muffler tip/9/10 quality) assuming (though internal and external changes were made between the years to the motor and body) that the exhaust would fit. Noooope. The exhaust header pipe into the exhaust port is off. Ok no big deal.. Ill rig something up.. I Never got around to it and kept it stored on the side of a friends house.. Which all changed today...
Fast Forward about 2 years and here I am, Finished the college that I was going to which originally put off the plans of the bike, and couldnt have seemed to end up in a better situation. I recently heavily modified, tuned, sanded, painted, and (sold) a 49cc 2-stroke pocket rocket. Alot of time and money into that little guy. Now Who more perfect to sell it to than a Lady looking to get rid of her old KX thats not running and needs a top end? Contacted her off craigslist. She loves having little toys around for her and her son, so she was happy to trade. Now about her bike. She got it from a father in-law, who got it from another person who had it stored for years waiting to be brought back to life (Motor Seized, pics will show more info) Somewhere along there the Engine # and VIN both had been removed. Stolen? I HIGHLY Doubt it. Single mom, 2 kids, had it for years, person before her is her father in law... whatever its 20+ years old. Hell Ive almost been stolen as a kid.. growing up in lancaster, ca......
Anyways- Her bike.. Her bike.. is THE one. I cant be more happy with myself for holding onto my Bike. Without that none of this would have fallen into place. Hers has a bad motor, My motor is the BEES KNEES! I need a frame.. Hers is an 87 Big Wheel, with So many original parts itll make your Head spin. Down to the chain tensioner. Her frame is So straight, It made me dizzy. All original safety stickers still there, uni-track on the swing arms under the Renthal Orange one (keeping them safe).
Hers needs basically the heart and guts from my '89 kx80. So In my thread I Will be not only be doing a heart transplant, but also a bit of restoration and Definitely some modifications. Her Motor? (Missing engine number) and unknown to her, has a big bore kit! shes Rockin' a 99cc Head. Figured out by measuring the piston and bore and looking up. Good news is that the cylinder doesnt look to be too bad and may only be the first time its had problems. Either way, I believe my motor for now will stay the way its running, but on her frame while i build up the big bore 80/100 motor and figure out what to do with it or put it in (Go kart?)
So please help me out, any advice, or ANYWHERE to get any info on these old Kawi's feel free to post. I need things such as what differences there are between ('87 80 BW (water pump says kx80G) and my '89 KX80) or what parts can interchange with what bike. Heres some pics, i was blown away by how good her frame was and I cant wait to give it the New life it has been waiting for. Currently Posting Pics. Thanks for Reading

Oh also, if anyone needs a bottom end/ tranny I can sell/trade them the one that was on her bike. I doubt ill trade the cyl Jug (kx100) but maybe for the right trade. LMK! -Justin
