Those 85-86 bikes are still great looking. That was my favorite shade of green that kawie used.

Very nice !! I have had a couple 1986s but they were never that nice.

Anyway...are those new 1985-1986 pipes? They look like ProCircuits.

Or are they pipes for a different year like 87-89 because no one but maybe DG makes pipes for those years anymore?

Very nice! Im (very slowly) restoring my old 86 now. Also interested in the pipe. Mine is missing and I havent had much luck finding another. Are your side panels on the 85 reproductions or NOS? All the repros Ive seen have vents added to them (Maier and Nightmare Racing) or have a dull finish.

I think the 87-89 KX250 pipes will work, but just want positive confirmation from someone.

You could use a 86 Tecate pipe but you would have to cut the stinger and mount a FMF universal Turbine Core 2 silencer.

DG still sells the Tecate pipe new.

I still have a 1986 KX250 PC pipe and it is for sale

here is a PC 1986 KX250 pipe on my Tecate:

Hi

I was lucky and managed to buy the exact Pro Circuit Pipe for the 1987 about 5 years ago. As most of you know the 87 was a one off year and the 85/86 and 88/89 Pro Circuit pipes will not fit. You may be able to modify one if you or a friend have the welding skills.

The 85 Pro Circuit pipe I bought second hand out of the states with a dent which was repair. It is stamped as an 86 pipe but it fits correctly. I did offer the pipe up against the 87 and it will NOT fit in standard form.

EBay has offered up a couple of PSI pipes in the past but I'm not familiar with these so stayed with Pro Circuit.

Hope this helps everyone.

Craig

Hi

The 87 shares original OEM plastics from back in the day.

The 85 has OEM side panels and a mixture of aftermarket Radiator panels and later OEM mudguards together with Acerbis Fork/Disc guards again from back in the day.

Hope this helps.
