I left dirt bikes in mid eighties and didn't get back into till 2000. What I shock I was in when I learned 500s were pretty much already phased out. After having my KX500 now since 2001, I have a lot of respect for those guys that rode these beasts on a moto track. I mostly race desert and ride trails on mine, but occasionaly get it on a moto track in a GP and it is a handful.
Anyway, I'd like to know if there is video or DVD out there of some of the last 500cc nationals.
Also, anyone know when the last 500cc two stroke bike was raced in World Motocross Championships? I know the last 500cc US National was 1993. Richie Owens raced and did quite well on a KX500 at the Mammoth Motocross a few years ago.
