Other open bikes

How many of you have other open bikes besisdes the Jolly Green giant? Any one have a CR, YZ/WR, KTM, Maico or even RM500 or some off-brand? How would you compare them against each other for trail riding and moto? I for one, like all "real" open bikes (a 300 isnt an open bike in my opinion) and respect them as awesome machines.

I had a 2000 CR500. The only place it had an advantage over my KX was the motocross track.

I had(still have)aHusky 390,and a Husky 500,both automatics.In motocross no comparison,off-road they were good for there day,but unreliable.I love my KX500,some-one thats never ridden one doesnt know what there missing!

You're right Zombie, a 300 will never be an Open Class machine and the way the Categories are bracketed makes me wonder who the hell formulates them. Whoever it is is probably closely related to the Wizened Intellect that Grouped up and Outlawed the 500 Two stroke Class in the First place. When I was Younger the Only reason I went to a Local MX Race was to wait for the 125 & 250 races to finish So i could look at the Open Class 2-Strokes. Who wants to look at a Bunch of Overweight 4-Strokers all day ?

Back to the Topic. I Currently have my 97 KX, an'01 CR500 (Still in the Crate, and about to be placed in my TV Room, No BS!)and a YZ360 1975.

I Don't have much money But what I have I spend in the sort of Direction I've Outlined Above. Maybe thats why My Wife left me?......................
