im not sure how to say this...a hard tire isn't always for hard dirt. soft tires are better on hard pack and intermediates are sometimes better in soft sandier conditions
one of the tire mans had that write-up I don't remember which one but it kind of got me thinking the other way around it got better for my tire bill

there is some truth to that...

knob spacing and design is crucial to tire selection as well....widely spaced knobs for sand/soft, and the narrower the spacing, the better for harder terrain, as you increase the footprint.

ya i agree with the less space between the knobs being a better hard terrain like i ride kinda tire. i remember back in the day when my dad would ride he would have a tire that was almost all knobby. i dont really know what om looking for. the trials tire sounded like a good idea but the size isnt whats recommended though . so ill burn off another maxxis dessert it but i need to do some comparison shopping in the meantime. i just want to ride. not look at my back tire and say to myself f**k me an0ther one already.? but this one looks like iotll last a bit longer. im not much into riding on snow and ice. so i have time to look. thanks guys. giggidy giggidy
