13t, 45t off kdx
« on: April 28, 2005, 11:32:19 PM »
I'm pulling the gearing off my dads kdx, 13t in the front and 45 t in the rear just for the weekend ( no shops could get me steel by sunday, I will be going back to my 14t 49t ) Part numbers match so i know they'll go on.  Other than cutting my chain down, is there anything else i should be aware of? Seems like wasted effort, 13/45 = 3.46:1 and 14/49 = 3.50:1.

13/45 sure beats no sprocket/no ride any day.
Rock it 'til the wheels fall off!

It turns out all i needed to do was pull his rear sprocket b/c it was actually a 48t.  so everything worked great and was able to race yesterday.  the kx was great, led my class until the final lap i bent my shift lever to the frame and was stuck in one gear. I ended up stuck somewhere in the woods b/c it was in 4th gear and ended up 5th.
