Hi,

I'm going to replace my fork oils seals and fluid.

The manual says 535ml +-4ml capacity....but is that for just 1 fork? or both?

Just seeing if I need to buy 2 liters of fork oil or 1.

And while I'm on the subject....if there's any tips you guys want to give me since it will be my first time doing this.

Also, any recommendations of brand? I know the weight should be 5w.

dinky,

Hey Dinky, not sure if you have open chamber forks, but alward25 mentioned this to me about my fork oil. My manual also says 5W for mine. I am going to run 10W as he suggested. Hope this helps.

10wt on the suspension.  Open chamber forks like it a little better.

I was also wondering if the quantities were per fork, or both. Now I know. :-)

Still gather up the materials I need....

I'll have to look into the oil weight...my front forks are kind of soft, but I'm not sure if that's the spring or oil, or dampening.

I'd like to firm it up double what it is now.

you should get fork springs for your weigth and heigth, if the forks are to soft still it's the dampers, but you always wanna have springs for your weigth! i have had springs that were to soft for me and it's a real pain when you can't jump the bike becuse you know the shocks will just bottom out
