2015 lake hasvasu WORCS race.
« on: March 31, 2015, 05:46:56 AM »
So this past weekend we all went down to Havasu for the 4th or so round of the WORCS series. My plan was to take the five hundy but I had broken my scapula, 2 ribs and tore my rotator cuff in January at our local series first race of the year  :-( so taking the 500 was probably not the best bike for helping my shoulder heal  :-D even though it was a 100% sand track I ended up taking the Beta 300 (e-start and a super buttery smooth power makes it perfect for a gimp).

We started off the weekend with watching my buddies kid race the 65cc race Saturday morning, then we signed up for our big bike race that was in the morning. Then like the totally privateer half-ass racer that I am we headed down to the canal and preceded to try and drink all the beers in Havasu during spring break. Finally by the end of the night (sometime around idk really dark out and almost light out ) we set up our tents on the beach, and by we I mean my ol' lady cause I couldn't hardly stand...... Ahhhh the morning, (luckily the race is less then a half a mile from the lake) we awaken to the sound of bikes, wait... except we are the first race of the day and it's 7am and we start at 7:30am... Soooo with a blistering hang over we rip over to the track unload the bikes and make it to the start line with less then 5 minutes till the gates drop, no breakfast, no water and an empty water pack I put on anyways  :-D

Needless to say I had a rough race and who cares where I finished cause it was a kick ass weekend regardless. Also I got a chance to check out a very nicely built kx500AF that was racing and I was wondering if it was anyone from this site?

Also I have a very nice picture of my buddy jumping the lagoon jump, I figured you guys would enjoy it.

I know that a "few" of the active members on this page are up and over 40+ but I figured I would share with you guys a race stroy from a 22 year old and hopefully waken your guys memories up on how it was when you were younger
The 2-smoke runs deep in this one...

Ahhh, the good old days.  Drink like a fish, recover, and then finish in one piece.  Now I just concentrate on finishing in one piece.   :-D
Perhaps I have a dirt bike addiction?
