450 carb on 500af
« on: March 12, 2015, 02:09:27 PM »
Anyone running 450f carb on 500af? Just got it. Not sure how to adjust carb. Runs way rich. 32:1 mix. Fouled two spark plugs. Any ideas?

The accelerator pump is dumping fuel into the motor every time you crack the throttle......Sell the FCR and buy a PWK carb

Work is one thing, work right another, you could maybe remove the rod on the acc pump and work with jetting and make it work, the question is why. You can get a carb for a few hundred, or even a 250 carb and bore it to a 40mm

Riding elevation 1000 ft or less
PWK 39 stock carb
55 pilot
168 main
clip on the third (Middle) position
approx 1.5 on the screw.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
