lookin sweet!

what did you have to do to modify the CRF pegs?...and are they stock CRF pegs?
that pipe was a "score"!
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ

It took a lot of cutting and grinding of the peg, there has to be a better swap out there. I would eventually get a nice set of aftermarket ones but I'd hate to chop them up like I had to do on the OEM CRF450 ones.

Also I am awaiting a natural colored IMS tank to come in.

Looks great! I will be restoring my old 86 250 soon. I too will be going with wider pegs. I was thinking of modding the frame mounts to use 03/04 KX250 pegs. I have a bunch of those.

I picked up a cheap set of 06 KX450 titanium pegs that I am going to modify to suit my 250. Keep up the good work.

Plated frame looks great. Dig the 90s anodized blue forks too.

I am working on rebuilding my 85 KX500 currently. It is similar to your 86 but no power valve and a rear drum brake instead of disk. Mine will be a mostly original looking restoration except for an 89 front end, but even that will pretty much look like stock too unless you really know 80's KXs.

Some progress... disregard that tan, I am awaiting my new IMS natural color one. I had to blur it it was just too ugly (previous owner botched it with truck bed liner)

Gold rims should be in any day.
I beadblasted the rear hub to match the OEM 93 front.

I like the rad hose arrangement on the left with the cooler and the temp gauge.
I plan on doing something similar with my next head rebuild.
Temps on these beasts can change very quickly so it might be a bit awkward trying to get your temps at WOT
