Saying hello and advice required please
« on: February 17, 2015, 05:18:46 AM »
Hi everyone,

I'm really pleased to be here, and without being rude require some advice rather quickly.

I have purchased this bike through ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/231479653622?_trksid=p2059210.m2748.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

I collect the bike on Saturday.   After speaking to the seller, I asked about the 3 code plugs (maps) after reading up on the 2014 model online.  The seller said he doesn't know what I'm talking about and does not have any plugs. He said that I can tell It's 2014 as this was the 1st year with Launch control, which according to the advert, the bike has.  Does this sound right to you guys out there?

He also said that there is no logbook with the bike, Is this true, if so what paperwork if any should I expect to receive?

Also for a 2014 model what frame numbers and engine numbers should I expect to see?

Thank you guys for helping with my questions  :-D, and any other advice you think I should consider would be greatly appreciated.  I'm new to the sport and want to get off to a good start.

Welcome aboard!

Yes, the 2014 had different MAP plugs. Can't answer your other questions. This site is a little slow moving at times but there's a lot of knowledge here.

If the bike is a USA bike the 10th digit of the VIN should be a E
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
