It will be a couple weeks before I start selling the parts off this one, Due to timing I will be riding it until I can start swapping everything out. But f you want it then I will make sure you get first shot at  it. $40.00

Man that sucks.....I had the same type of thing happen after my build, the motor maybe had 2 hours on it and the rings came apart and ruined everything. It was a brand new motor also.... Oh well it happens I guess

Looks like a classic case of detonation. Mine was bad fuel. I've had one month old race gas in my sled (I live up north) and blew it up in less than 5 minutes of ride time.

I know this is a resurrection of the dead but I wondered what happened with this build?
I also wonder what the jetting and riding altitude was?
I'm using a Wossner rod in all my builds... So far no issues...
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

My first thought was there was too much stress between crank case and motor mount. Are you sure the rod was broken first? I never saw that before.

The brown oxides on the right break area looks like there was a crack before the big damage has come. Compare the right and left fracture surface or the break above. (Photo of the crank case upper side)

Back in 1993 I was practicing my starts and the piston decided to disintegrate, it bent the small end of the rod slightly... The pin made 2 deep ditches in the forward cylinder wall...
 Expensive repair....
