Newbie with an question
« on: December 01, 2014, 12:33:05 PM »
I asked this in the AFC area with no response so Ill try again. I am interested in building a YZ500. I want to use a 2002-2004 YZ 250 chassis and install a KX 500 engine. Has anyone ever attempted this or know if it is even possible?

Thanks,

Haudy

haven't seen one on here yet...
as for if it's possible...absolutely, anything's possible with a few fabricating skills.

That thing is beautiful. I did some looking around and see that the same guy builds KTM 500 conversions too. Does anyone know more about him/them? I would consider paying what he is asking if someone can back up his work. I have looked at a few MPS builds and dont think i am ready to go that route yet.

not sure if anyone on here has done business with him, maybe someone will eventually come forward that has.

stay far away from MPS!!...there are members on here that have dealt with him, and got burnt pretty bad....here's one thread...

I'm sure if you search around the site, you'll find plenty more negative about him.

I emailed the guy on that YZ. Seems legit and that thing is beautiful. I may entertain buying that sweet piece of art before I try and build my own. Anyone have any ideas for shipping? He's in WA and I am in WI. That is a bit more of a drive than I would like.

shop around a bit...I've seen some sellers advertise between $250-$400 for shipping.
did you ask him if he had anyone in mind, that you could use?
I'm sure someone else on here has good suggestions too.
