06-12 KX250F Triple Clamps

Been searching for this info, nothing relevant comes up.

I've researched the fact that the steering stem bearings on an 06-12 KX250F are the same part number, well across the board for all KXs, as early as 99 as far as I'm concerned. So I'd imagine its possible to take your existing steering stem and press it into a set of modern KX250F triple clamps, and have it work on your steel frame KX. The issue I see being the steering stops on the bottom clamp of the KXF are different, for an aluminum frame, but relatively in the same position and might work as is or possibly need slight modification... it seems.

So has anyone here done this to their KX, or seen it done? I searched but couldn't find any details of how it was done.

I have 12 kxf250 clamps on my 07 kxf250 because of the 22.5mm offset instead of 24.5mm for better steering.

Ah that's a practical part change, the 06 to 12 KXF triple clamps are completely interchangeable. Its putting these clamps on a steel KX frame that brings issues, from what I know the steering stems from most later KXs can be pressed into the KXF clamps but getting the steering stops to work is something I would have to test fit and see.

Did you happen to notice any difference when you changed the offset?

It has much better steering now. Do you know how much offset your KX have?
To less and it can get a head shaker.

My 02 KX125 should have 22mm, but I'm curious about mounting 11 12 Showa forks to the 125...
