Vapor Vapour Wet Agua Blasting....
« on: September 09, 2014, 09:52:44 AM »
I've had quite a bit of excitement regarding this machine.
Time will tell if it was a good investment.
I wrote some about it here:

Here is some pics of the machine.

The vapor blaster came in today ... Whoopie!!!!
Opened the back of the truck and found this.

Damage as noted so far...

Bent leg

Glass pulled loose from the seal that covers the lights on the lid.

The top is bent

Wires were pulled loose from the electrical box

Nice!!!

yup...might as well just pull your pants down and invite the seller/shipper to repeatedly kick you right in the balls!!.

I hate people so much....it's really a good thing I don't have the power of God, to chose who lives and dies...cause I'd be very lonely in this world.

No worries...
People ask me why it is so expensive to ship parts.
I tell them I have two prices.
Price #1 I'll toss it in a box, tape it up and hope for the best.
Price #2 Package it like a brick to take into account the idiots having a bad day at the shipping company.

I'll be learning the ins and outs for a while yet but this machine is already showing promise.

Looks great!!! Talk about shipping... Ordered some new pipes for the wife's ZX14R. They came in rubbing together in the box so of course there was a couple dents. Was negotiating with them for how much they would give me back when I realized the pipes were for the wrong year. Sent them back.
New set came in with expanding pour foam all around them and their plastic bags. Not only could they not touch I had a bit of a time getting them out! Would rather have that though!
Trying to think of what I need blasted. How abrasive is it? Or I should ask, how much material does it remove?

As near as I can tell it does not remove anything.
Everything I have read about the process states that it peens the surface metal but does remove anything.
This process was developed originally in WWII for rebuilding soft metal air craft parts so it works great on aluminum, magnesium, brass, bronze, and copper but also works well on stainless steel and titanium.
If you need something done Brute, degrease it first and remove any plastics or glass.

Some alloys of aluminum clean better then others or are more shiny.
Also, I need to experiment with different blast pressure and media type.
But so far I'm pretty happy with the results.
