GoPro Uploading advice
« on: June 20, 2014, 09:12:27 AM »
Hey guys I'm looking for some advice on uploading videos shot with a gopro camera,I shot a video yesterday with the camera set at 1080p-30fps which should be HD right? so I uploaded it to youtube which took about 12hrs for a 10 minute video :? :? and when it was done it is at 360p :? :? So I tried processing it through Windows live movie maker and the highest resolution is 480p but it uploaded alot faster??? Its a gopro 2 i'm using, any advice on how to process and upload in HD without taking 12hrs and ending up with a crap video would be awesome,Thanks Guys

12 hours!!....did you try to call GoPro and see if they had any suggestions as to why it took so long?
Sometimes in certain cameras, the size of the memory card can play a role in upload speed...but 12 hours seems a wee bit excessive regardless :-o
Excuse me, ma'am...but you've got extremely nice legs!!!...what time do they open???                                                                                                               https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8tCgN3aryQ

hey Guys I been using the GoPro since it came out and have some uploading tips

Only Use SanDisk ULTRA cards try and go for at least 32 gig   Class 10 or above is a must

ditch the 30 fps unless u are looking for slow motion clips u dont need it 24 is what i use makes for a smaller clip

Dont upload it from movie Maker use the you tube upload

All my vids are in HD but sometimes even when i view them from you tube i cant view in 1080 or even 720

U can also use a program to reduce the size of the file as a ten minute clip will be anywhere around 4 gig? Is a lot as the gopro saves its files as MP4 its kinda a large file because of the HD

Ur internet connection is most of the cause of long upload a 5 min clip takes me 300 mis in 1080 at 24 fps check my channel for Quality and see if u can view this vid in 720 or 1080 HD  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSZ8y53r3oA

for the extra price on the Black try and get it as the black is full wifi with remote and 120 FPS the difference in lens alone is worth the extra 100 bucks or so review on both black and silver hero3

I love having the wifi remote strapped to the handlebars the only reall downside to the Black is the battery life 1.5 hours is being generous lol.  I fixed that problem with some 1300mAh the original gopro battery is only 1050.  New battery gives me 1hour 50mins.   My bike runs out of fuel after that so I need to be back at camp anyways 3 batterys i can now charge from 12volt does me for the weekend.
