Restoring brake pedal shaft for KX500

Is there a known repair for worn out brake pedal shafts, as pictured here:
The end of the shaft gets worn down a bit, and the shaft is not replaceable.

cut the tab with the shaft right off the frame, and have another shaft machined to the correct size(O.D.), then either use the old frame tab, or fabricate a new tab and weld your new shaft to it, and then to the frame.

I finally got around to addressing this issue have been meaning to before I installed my 2 piece clutch cover so I don't wear a whole in the new cover. I had always thought maybe a newer set up would work so I looked around my shop and my 2001 kx 250 sacrificed its pedal and bolt. I pre drilled the old pivot point before I cut it off so my hole would be straight then cut off the old shaft and tapped the whole to 8mm then its a direct bolt on the spring even fits correctly I had to remove the jam nut from the pedal stop so I could adjust the pedal up high anoff then adjust the master cylinder rod.
it looks like my sons 08 kxf 450 is the same so might try that later then I can shop for a blingy pedal.
there's now no slop its a way better set up.
