My new KX500.. FINALLY!
« on: February 01, 2005, 10:54:01 AM »
I dont have any pics yet, but I will as soon as I actually get it home. I should be picking it up tomorrow as I just put a down payment on it till I get my income tax check either tonight or tomorrow! Its a '97 with an FMF Gnarly pipe, and Power Core silencer. I bought it from the same shop that I bought my last bike from and the guy was really good to deal with and really straight forward and honest.  Both times I was fortunate enough to deal directly with the owner of the shop (Gran Prix Cycles here in Albany, Oregon. I'm getting it for $1800 cash. He said he rode it himself and the clutch and gears all worked and shifted fine, plus said that he knows the guy that owned it and the guy rides here on the local track and at the dunes and told me that he has sold a few bikes throughout the years for this same guy and never had any problems with any of them. He said the guy is really good with the maintenance and such. The bike has Black fork guards, black shrouds, Purple tank,  black gripper seat cover, and green fenders with the stock white side plates. Also the rear fender is from a KX250 which I deffinetely like.  The bike is in pretty good shape but deffinetly looks like its been ridden alot.  I had him put it on a stand so I could check out the swing arm bearings and everything there was solid. Other than that I just checked it over really well and made sure there was nothing broken. CANT WAIT TO RIDE IT!!!!  I already had a riding trip planned to the dunes in Florence, Or on the 13th, so I got just enough time to go through and make sure its ready to ride and paddled up!
Rock it 'til the wheels fall off!

That's great. Hope you enjoy it. I am wanting to buy a new WR450F Yamaha this year but I keep thinking about buying another 500 like an 04 model. Two 500's in the barn would be nice but me and my family do alot of trail riding and I think the wr450 would be may best choice. Have Fun.
