I've powder coated the last few frames.. thinking of maybe going with a primer/paint this time.

Rustoleum is probably about the cheapest and most durable as far as paint goes for frames. It wont last as long as powdercoat but it's quite a bit cheaper. I've always sandblasted my frames before painting. Bought a siphon feed sand blast gun $20 and 2 bags of Medium Black Diamond $7 a bag from Tractor Supply. It is messy and best done outside. Wear a respirator and safety glasses/goggles and thick leather gloves.

Any auto parts store will have engine paint in a variety of colors. 500 degree paint works good. If you want to paint the exhaust use the 1200 degree or higher paint. Rustoleum also makes engine paint that works well and is a bit cheaper. Haven't used their high heat paint but I'm sure it will work just fine as well.
It's hard to keep a drivers license riding a 2 stroke dirt bike on the street.  If you drive within the law they are VERY boring.
