Doordie's tank?
« on: January 19, 2005, 04:01:24 PM »
I see in the gallery album of Doordie's that his kx 500 has a 89kx250 gas tank.  I'm curious if its different from a stock tank and if a 89 250 tank would fit my 99 kx 500!?

Is it a different shape than the stock tank of a kx 500 like mine?

My notes say that the 88-89 kx250 uses the same plastic as the 88-04 kx500. Not certain about the tank though. Cam.

Actually, the 88 250 had the same tank as a 500.It was only the 89 that had the smaller profile.Chalk that knowledge up to old DIRTBIKE magazines.lol!

a purple-nurple tank.? um lets see,,,,,hummmmm, the price of my old green stock tank would be ahhh,
$1 million dollars.!!!!!! austin..ok no really, it's has a small crack under the cap threads, but this has no effect with anything, it was like that when i got it you can't see it unless you look for it, i'll sell it for $30 bucks.?the tank will last forever, i've had no isues at all , rather then it being stock. those dang aftermarket catalogs..... if you like write back, i'm in huntsville ala, ok, joseph
ps; i can take some digital close-ups of it for you if you wish. i take pics of the bike all the dang time anyway. if your curious.

yeah, sure thing with the digital pics just cause I'd like to see how it looks,  I'll trust you with the crack situation... and by the way... I havent laughed that hard in a while(purple tank, million dollars thing). My email is gdubb@charter.net so you can send the pics there and we can discuss how to take care of the shipping and money transaction. I deffinetely appreciate it!
