clutch slips

i just bought a 1998 kx125 ,clutch seemed to slip ,not so bad i couldnt ride it ,speed didnt seem catch up with eng rpm ,seemed a little jerky when taking off ,so i replaced the clutch fiber , steel plates & springs ,(how much do the spring bolts torque on ?the old fiber plates didnt look as bad as i thought they would ,the hub looked ok ,the basket had grooves worn were the fiber plate fingers ride ,(are the fiber plate fingers suppose to be tight in basket ,i can turn them back & forth a 16th of an inch or so)it seems a little better but still think it has a problem (my first experience with replacing a clutch)

Grooves in your basket?

You can't always tell how worn plates are by looking at them.
If you measure them, then compare to the service specs in your service manual, then you will know where you stand.
Steel Plate Standard thickness 1.5-1.7 mm    Service limit 1.4 mm
Friction Plate Standard thickness 2.72-2.88 mm    Service limit 2.6mm

incorrect cable adjustment can cause havoc...make sure it's got enough free play at the lever...1/8" is good.

i have measured my old clutch plates ,fibers average 2.78mm & steels 1.6mm
i will take cover off & take pictures of basket asap
