Main Case Sealant
« on: April 25, 2014, 05:11:17 PM »
Hello, haven't split the cases on a Kawasaki in some 40 years or so. If I remember correctly I used some sort of adhesive sealant from Kawasaki on the split joint between the main cases. What are we using in the 21st century ?

+1....
It's Motorrad approved...

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

a tiny dab also works great as a thread locker too...especially on VF2 screws.

Ive been recommended hondabond on more than one occasion.   So I looked into it at my local honda power sports and auto dealer and was told hondabond was only states side and that they use permatex sealer here in canada.  Any thoughts?

there are a couple members on here that have used Permatex to seal up their cases, without any issues....not everyone agrees with it on the other hand :|...I've never used it as a case sealant, but it does work pretty good on other applications.

Yamabond, Hondabond, Threebond...they're all good quality sealers...and probably all pretty close to the same exact thing with different names.
