New to Forum - K5
« on: April 13, 2014, 01:31:22 PM »
Hi Guys.. and possibly Gals

I'm a new Kx500 owner. 1991 chassis formerly used in supermoto racing. Got two engines and a smattering of other parts with it as well. Will be working towards putting it in dunes trim. In fact, first trip to St. Anthony's will be the end of the month so I better get in gear!
Also have a real clean 95 KDX200 that I've owned for about 15 years now and two Street machines, an 05 Honda VFR Intercepter, and an 03 Gixxer1000. The site is awesome so far and I'm looking forward to posting more as the season gets rolling!

Cheers!

Rob

After 10 days of late nights, got into sand trim and went to St. Anthonys

Still with road tires on:

Someday I'll have to make a trip to St. Anthonys
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

St Anthony's was awesome. Don't have a whole lot of Dune experience but it was amazing. and the 500 was king! all my buddies ride 450's now. I got some satisfaction out of being the fastest up Choke Cherry in front of two brand new 450's!

Me, just getting ready to ride the first day.

I wonder how it feels getting sandblasted by a 23 yr old bike on your new 450?

There's a dark corner in me that hopes it stung good

Ultimately, having ridden the 450's, they do have a nice power delivery and all... but I'm a horsepower addict and I just can't get over how much fun the power hit is on the 500!

I imagine its way to hot down south to ride in the sand already... It continues to threaten snow where I live in Alberta Canada, and you could probably still snowmobile where we usually ride

Anybody down south wanna hire a Master Electrician so I can move to a warmer climate... Anyone?
