KX500 Gearing, Mods, and Top Speed
We started Hi Jacking another thread so I figured it was a good time to start one specific to this subject.
People always want to know how fast you can go.
So it will be interesting to see what people have documented.
Motorrad will have to post a list of his mods but let's just say that his will probably be an aberration
91mm bore, huge cylinder mods, port timing mods, exhaust valve mods, head mods, crank mods, case mods, MZB, overdrive 5th, Lectron carb, and who can remember all the other various mods???
In any case he ran 117 and backed off. His bike was still pulling hard and in the meat of his power band.
I don't know what gearing he was running at the time.
Alward25 hit 123 with unknown mods and gearing...
I hope they comment.
And, I hope you all comment so we can build an honest database of KX500 Gearing, Mods, and Top Speed.
I will be posting my info as soon as I get my bike out of town and wind the springs out of it.
The only mods it has is Reed, Pipe, Carb, and street slicks.
