Spark plug cap resistance
« on: April 15, 2014, 05:00:46 PM »
Was doing a plug check and the part that the tip of the plug connects with disintegrated.
So I bought some different kinds from Amazon all with 5K ohms resistor built into the spark plug cap.

5K ohms is what the cap that was originally on the bike had.  The stock plug is a NGK BR8EG, which measures around 5K ohms also.  In other words there is about 10K ohms of resistance between the cap and stock plug.

Does anyone know if this is right?  If the correct plug has 5K of resistance do I need a plug cap that has resistance also?
Does the CDI care? The plug cap I replaced was NICHIWA LB0EMKA if that helps...the zero might be an O...
