lock up clutch theory? Anyone?

What exactly is a lock up clutch and how does it work?  Is it more oriented to drag racing?  I think there is one for the K5 by ?Sling shot?

I never played with one as they seem to be big on the quad drag race scene.
If I'm not mistaken they fully lock the clutch up so that it does not slip with high HP engines.
Sounds great for that application but I have never ran enough HP to make a good clutch pack slip.
I couldn't find anything for the K5.
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

I have seen a couple types. One style is a weight system to put more force on the clutch plates at higher RPM but slip at lower. Like a centrifugal clutch on Karts. Lets -whatever- get the engine more in the power band. Most can be adjusted to slip at different RPMs.
The other is rollers that bite in with more power but allow slippage at lower power settings when you may not want 'abrupt' power or deceleration.
Both make things 'smoother' but also prevent slip in high power/resistance situations.

The "Crower clutch" is used with drag racing and tractorpulling.
