I just remembered a tool (Wise Grip?) I bought last year planning to use it to remove my flywheel. I could not use it for that purpose (the pins didn't fit the holes in the flywheel and I couldn't be bothered to grind them down) but I used it yesterday. It's a versatile tool and you can probably find more use for it once you own it. I must admit, I am a bit of a tool fetishist. I mean, buying tools without a real use..?
This tool can definitely be used to hold the clutch, see picture below.
