Hello everyone, very nice site for a KX 500 junkie like my self. I'm lucky enough to own two 500's, a very clean 91 and my newest addition a 2000. Both bikes are set-up for desert racing which has become an addiction for myself. I live in the High Desert of Southern California and race AMA District 37 Desert. There is not a better desert bike made IMO, wish I new how to post pictures, so I could share the beasts with you all. I only live a few miles away from ACME Suspension so I've got the best suspension guy around close by.

Destry Abbott recommended ACME to me. He said to ask for Darryl. They are quite a ways away from me in Long Beach though. Are they good enough that I should ship my stuff? We have local tuner shops, but I would prefer the best if possible.  :D

Darryl is very good with KX suspension, if you call and make an appointment he will do your suspension while you wait, if you don't mind the drive. I'm very happy with his work.

Waiting would be a possibility. Could you give me an idea of home much you paid, or how much it might cost to get new springs and a revalve? I got a quote from Race Tech, and it came back about $700, which seems a bit high. Thanks.

Not that it would help you much but Motoworks did the spring and  re-valving on my 2001 for $400. I had the suspension on my 2000 CR500 done by Racetech for $725 and it was no where near as good as my KX at almost 1/2 the cost.

Acme was about half the cost of what Race Tech quoted you.
