Killer woods 2000 KX 250 build.......
« on: March 11, 2014, 02:32:45 PM »
So, I wanted to build a sweet woods bike 2 smoker.  I got donor bike parts.  A titled frame and bottom end and some other randomness from one friend, and the rest from another he has been mailing over from North Carolina from his bike with and engine that he rebuilt and did not put the wrist pin circlip in right, he thinks.  I will only have the price of a Warp 9 rear wheel invested in the initial project bike.  Soon I will sort all the donor bike parts to get the rolling chassis done while I wait for a little more money to do the engine.  It came with some sweet parts that will save me a wad of cash.  Here is the freshly powdercoated frame I did yesterday to get the ball rolling.  Oh and I am still doing the engine build on the 500, more on that later.  Ideas and comments welcome, Smart a$$ remarks for our humor will also be invited.  Thanks!

Nope, big bore 250, will most likely get a Power "D" set up too.  500 in the woods is a bit fatiguing after 6 hrs.

Looks like a great start to the project. Titled frames are harder to find than a black cat in the coal cellar.

Not if you make it run like a John deer

Imagine trying to start a 500 in a deep rut on the side of a wet, muddy, slimy hill and you are trying to keep the bike from sliding backwards down the hill, a 250 is much easier to start than a 500 i those conditions.  I did like my 500 in the woods, just not when I was dead tired and had to start it.

Just need some beef.
Go from this:

To this:

I also know this guy that has a whole slew full of kx250 parts to help you finish your project  8-)
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

LMAO! Eat your wheaties for breakfast and that should help too :P

Frame is pretty. Any special parts going in it? Motorrad always has special parts going in his engines. He just never tells us what they are.
It's hard to keep a drivers license riding a 2 stroke dirt bike on the street.  If you drive within the law they are VERY boring.

OK, after some more consideration,  I am just going to part out all my kx 250 stuff to put it to better use elsewhere.  I am going to get a power "D" setup first using some of my bottom end parts but the rest up for grabs.  Pictures soon.  No wheels or radiators, but.......
V-force 3 with extra reeds
boyeson clutch, mag covers and water pump impeller kit
bunch of exhaust stuff
3 air boxes
2 swingarms
2 sets of suspension
subframe
sweet powdercoated frame
carbon fiber frame guards
stock fuel tank
shock linkage
1 bottom end
1 complete engine
Triple clamps with universal brand top clamp 1 1/8"
Brakes front and rear
May have a set of wheels if you really are interested, they are on my 500.
It is all going to something crazy!!!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!
