« on: December 22, 2013, 10:57:09 AM »
I am having a difficult time viewing some photos. I am wanting to do a 04/05 KXF250/500. I am trying to locate all the info I can on a build of this type. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

OK, no build pics because it is the same as others. KX500 cradle grafted into the 05KX250f steel chassis. Using the A kit suspension, ti pegs and dirt star wheels off my sons 12 KX450. Frame, radiators, airbox, seat and tank off ebay for $280.00. Swingarm with all the spacers, dogbone, axle and pivot bolt from ebay too, $ 129.00. The motor came from a guy that had it in a go kart for $ 50.00. Had to get a reed valve and boot from Sandblaster, $ 30.00, I have not even taken the head off. Modded the radiators to fit the KX500 and put the kx500 pipe from the motor and welded a CR500 pipe I had, together to make a clean looking pipe. Misc. levers and bars with some nuts and bolts from the KX250f and I have the most fun 500 I've built (have done 3 CR500AF's). Still getting the jetting completely dialed in but the motor is so smooth and the chassis is so good, I am having a ball riding this bike. Will post some pics as soon as I can snap them. Thanks to all for the fantastic info on the site. Looks like no more CR5's for me.

It's good to hear that you like it.
Post pics when you can...
The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.
