Anyone on here run 80w in their bottom end on the k5?
I just put in a new clutch, and I run the red honda brand 80/85 in my cr 250 and id like to keep it all the same.
Thanks for any replies

I ran 80W Bel-Ray Gear Saver for years in my 250s and my 500 for a few years without any problems what-so-ever...I've recently switched to 10W-40.

I noticed that my 500 was notchy and sometimes hard to shift with Bel Ray 80w. I went back to 75w and it shifts much better.

Okay, thing is I soaked the clutches in the 85 before I realized that it was supposed to take a lighter oil. I guess it really won't hurt anything if I go with the specified oil.

it'll all be fine...the important part is you pre-soaked the plates.
