KX500 outlaw cart OH YEAH!!!!
« on: March 10, 2014, 04:21:09 PM »
Here is hrtucaine's KX500 powered shift kart project.
He's looking to get about 100 hp out of it to compete with some CR500 powered machines....

The four stroke engine: That's one stroke for producing power and three for wearing the engine out.

It will be interesting to see what has been done to the rest of the engine..

I never got into the Outlaw oval racing...but that thing is quite bad a$$ none the less...I wouldn't turn down an offer to take it for a rip, that's for sure.

Hi thanks for the post and feedback.

What you see is a stock KX 500 with some minor mods to the head.
Head Mod, has additional ANA fitting welded in for cooling burb tank. ( radiator is under the nose.) Head has been milled a little not sure how much will find out when I tear it down end of the month. ( I have one more race this weekend. Actually my 13 year old son races it!!!!!!)

Plan ( build up second motor I have spare with bad rod bearing at the crank.)
ISO lower rotating assembly.
I'll post some pics of my other pro-circuit ported / steel sleeve cylinder this weekend.
I have a new wiseco 87mm Piston I will be using with ported cylinder and mod head. That's my start for now.

Thanks.

I'm sure the power has to be respectable especially for a 13 year old.
A few well chosen mods and he is gonna need a diaper change

That thing is SAWEET! I'd like to see some video of your son racing it. Good luck this weekend.
It's hard to keep a drivers license riding a 2 stroke dirt bike on the street.  If you drive within the law they are VERY boring.

It's completely stock.
If you want hp, drag out the dremel
Do you know what thickness your base gasket was?
